Emergency Management Functions

  • Coordinate mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities for all emergency or disaster situations within Manistee County
  • Coordinate and/or conduct training and exercises with Manistee County Emergency Response personnel
  • Coordinate County emergency management activities with those of the State and adjacent jurisdictions
  • Educate the public as to actions necessary for the protection of life and property in an emergency or disaster
  • Develop and maintain local Emergency Operation Plans (EOPs) with local facilities, which are required by the State of Michigan
  • Assure the emergency management program meets eligibility requirements for State and Federal aid
  • Assist in the development of mutual aid agreements
  • Assist with applying for and the carrying out of grants for Manistee County and Region Number 7
