Passport Information E-mail
   

You MUST be a U.S. or Naturalized Citizen to obtain a Passport.

Passport Applications are available in the County Clerk's Office.  Proof of citizenship in the form of a Certified Birth Certificate, a previous U.S. passport or Naturalization Certificate must be submitted to the Passport Agency.  The Applicant must show a valid picture identification such as a Current Driver's License or State I.D. when applying for a passport.

All Minors (under the age of sixteen) must appear in person when applying for a Passport.  Both parents must be present with valid ID to apply for a Passport for a minor under the age of sixteen.

Two Passport quality photos are required.

Passport Cards will be available in the Spring of 2008.  The Passport Card may only be used for land and sea travel between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean.  See chart below for information regarding the cost of the Passport Card.

The present Passport Application Processing Time is taking 4-6 weeks.  Expedited
Passports are taking 2-3 weeks.  This notice of processing time was received from Passport Services, U.S. Department of State, in June, 2009.  Travelers who have applied for passports should monitor the status of the application online at http://travel.state.gov.  Customers may track the progress of their applications within one week of applying.

Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative

Effective June 1, 2009, U.S. Citizens must present a valid U.S. Passport Book, U.S. Passport Card, or other travel document approved by the Department of Homeland Security, when entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry.
